Day 6 – Violet

Today is my favorite day of the challenge. Primarily because this day will showcase my favorite color, Violet.

Allue Pumpin’ Purple

This polish is Allue Pumpin’ Purple. Allue is also an exclusive product of HBC. It’s a regular violet crème polish especially formulated for “tweens”. Unlike other polishes available in the market, Allue is packaged in a small bottle for only 5ml. I personally think this is because it’s target users are those who are almost in their teenage years and would not really need a lot of polish. I love its formula and consistency. Given the weather here, and the fact that I rarely use this color, the polish remains in good condition. It can be applied with ease. And you only need two coats for this opacity.

When I was younger, my mom said that green is my favorite color. Maybe because Peridot is my birthstone. But as I grew older, I realized that like her and my eldest sister, I also fancy shades of violet. When people ask me why it’s my favorite color, I would say: “Violet is the color of Royalty”.

I drew a crown as my accent nails. I’m not sure if violet is really the color of royalty. But I believe I heard it was. Nonetheless, I would still want to believe that it is.

I studied and graduated in a Catholic School. As far a I can recall, they said that Purple is the color of Lent and Mourning. It’s also the color that the priest use during interment. But violet is still a happy color for me.

Day 5 – Blue

Today is the fifth day of the Challenge. What I have for you is Blue. Just like green, I don’t have a blue polish that I haven’t showed on my blog yet. But I decided I’d use a color that I haven’t posted here.

This is SanSan Warm Blue. SanSan is also a local brand, it’s an exclusive product of HBC. Just like most of my polish, SanSan Warm Blue is a regular light blue crème polish. It has a very good formula and consistency. and the best feature is that you only need two coats for it to be opaque.

Aside from a shiny finish even without the top coat, the light blue shade also appeals to me.

This shade of blue reminds me of a very clear sky and a beautiful weather to go to the beach.

So I decided to paint my accent nails some clouds and sponge in the ocean. Yes, that’s the cloud up there. I think the colors that I used doesn’t really look like a cloud.

Nonetheless, I like how this turned out. Reminds me of summer. I am more of a summer person. Especially that here in my country, we only have two season -- summer and rainy (I think that’s kind of like autumn in most countries). Blue skies and white clouds gives me hope and brings in a positive feeling for me. I love sunrise.

Day 4 – Green

Moving on with the challenge. For the fourth day, we have the color Green. I do not own a lot of green polish. So today, I will be showing you something that I already swatched on my previous blog.

Bobbie Lush

This is Bobbie Lush, a regular green crème polish. Unlike Bobbie Vamp, this requires four coats to get full opacity. I forgot to use the white base, unlike the one that I used previously.

But I like the green shade and it’s consistency. the polish is easy to apply evenly.

I did have a hard time thinking of what to do as an accent nail. I’m thinking of the recycling symbol but I can not seem to figure out how to do that on my nails. After a lot of thinking, I ended up doing a non-green related design.

I love how I was able to draw the flowers. I know it’s not perfect. But I rarely draw a decent flower. So I really smiled after I was able to do this properly.

I also love how it looked on the camera. It looks like it’s a 3D flower, but no, it’s not.

Day 3 – Yellow

We’re now on to the third day of the challenge. Today, is the Yellow day. And I’m going to show you something I haven’t used before.

Bobbie Piña Colada

This is Bobbie Piña Colada. And this is literally the first time I used this polish. Piña Colada is a shimmer polish. Although the color and formula is good, I’m quite disappointed that I have to use four coats to get full opacity. I am a person with very little patience in waiting for a polish to dry. That’s why I would prefer a polish that are opaque in two coats. Nonetheless, I still like the polish. Maybe I’ll try to put on a white polish first next time.

I love the very micro glitters that make the polish very shimmery. I wish the camera can capture the shine.

Yellow reminds me of sunrise and sunshine. But no, that’s not what I did for the accent. I honestly cannot figure out how I can capture and put into my nails how amazing the sunshine is. So I asked my eight year old nephew what he thinks when he hears the word “yellow”. But of course, he also said sunshine. So I asked him for another one.

He said pencil. I decided to draw the end part of the pencil as my accent nails. I’m not sure if that’s the way pencils are in other countries. The most popular pencil here is “Mongol” with numbers 1, 2 and 3. I decided I’d just use Mongol number 1.

Although I’m quite sad that he was not able to recognize that it is a pencil’s end, I still love how it turned out.

I suddenly miss going to school. So what do you guys think?

Day 2 – Orange

This is my second installment for the 31 day challenge. Today I’m gonna show you some Orange polish. I do not have much orange polish. Aside from Bobbie Salmon, this is the only one that I have. Maybe because my sister hates orange and she’s one of my personal critics. Believe me, even a drop of orange would make her say it’s not pretty.

This orange polish is unbranded and unnamed. It’s included in the neon polish that Cindy gave me. Just like all those neon polish, I also love the formula and consistency of this polish. Its opaque in just two coats. I didn’t have any problems applying it at all.

As I’ve mentioned, I easily got bored on bare polish, so I added an accent nail. (Which I think I’ll be doing for the rest of the colors).  Orange reminds me of sunsets. For my accent nails, I decided to sponge in some yellow and purple polish and draw some Palm trees.

Day 1 – Red

This is supposed to be up yesterday. But due to severe colds, I was not able to think and write something about this. So today, you will be seeing two days of the challenge.

For Day 1 is the color Red. I started looking at my stash for a polish I haven’t showed you yet. I remembered the polish I left for my sister to use when I went to Holland. I can not imagine how she was able to live 3 months with just one polish. Anyway, here is the polish I’m talking about.

Bobbie Vamp

This is Bobbie Vamp a regular red crème polish. Bobbie is a local brand in the Philippines, and I doubt if it’s available outside the country. I really love this shade of red. Aside from its very bright red color, I also love its formula. This color stood out from all of my other Bobbie polish since it only needs two coats to be fully opaque. It’s also very easy to apply

Ever since I started loving nail art, I got bored with just plain polish. I always wanted to add something else. So I decided to add some glitters to my polish.

En Vue Glitters

This is En Vue. Another polish that I got from Cindy. She did have a lot of disposable polish that she barely use and this is one of those that can still be used. I love the combination of the big and small glitters.

Christmas Wrapper Nails

I already this polish combination but was not able to post it back then. I decided I’d redo this so that I can show this to you. I also think that this is in line with the season. Why, you’d ask?

My sister said that this mani reminds her of a Christmas wrapper that we have here. These wrappers are usually those free wrappers in our Department Stores when you opted to have your gifts wrapped there. They do have 2 versions of this, one is with green and the other is this one. And yes, my sister is right, it do look like Holiday wrappers.

31 Day Challenge

This challenge has been up for quite some time now. It's about time I join the fun.

If you have been following people that love nail polish and nail art, you might have noticed that this challenge has been up for quite some time now. And as a nail art enthusiast, I’ve always wanted to take on the challenge. But due to some personal issues and internet problems as well, I am not able to do so. Hopefully, I will be able to finish this as the year ends. And since I really do not celebrate Christmas, this is what will be up in my blog this month.
